Each year the BoatU.S. Foundation
selects local nonprofit organizations to
promote boating safety education through
our grant program. We are always looking
for the most innovative and effective
ways to reach people with this message.
Each year the Leadership in Boating
Safety Outreach Award will go to the
group whose project best meets the
criteria below.

Foundation staff and other members of
BoatU.S. will serve as judges. Final

provided. The committee will further
evaluate projects based on the following
characteristics:
-
New and innovative ways to
educate.
-
Resourceful and efficient use of
grant funds.
-
Quality and professionalism of
work.
-
Use of positive Do messages
rather than relying on negative
Don’t messages.
-
Organizations flexibility and
effectiveness in ability to carry
out the project in a prompt manner.
The grant recipient that is chosen by
the committee for the Leadership in
Boating Safety Outreach Award will
receive the following benefits:
-
Recognition of their work on the
BoatU.S. Foundation Website.

in their local area recognizing them

of the following year’s Boating
Safety Grant Program recipients.
