U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Division 6 based
in Seabrook, Texas, was awarded grant funds
to install VHF radio equipment. This
equipment will improve emergency
communication on the water for all boaters.
The Sable Point Sail & Power Squadron based
in Irons, Michigan, was awarded grant funds
to put up 3 Boat Smart Signs.
District 27 of the U.S. Power Squadron is
made up of 19 Squadrons based in eastern
North Carolina. They were awarded grant
money to produce 38 banners (upper right) to
promote their Vessel Safety Check program.
Members of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary,
Flotilla 9-5, based in Marco Island,
Florida, help kids learn about safe boating
at their Water Wise event. They received a
grant to print advertising and educational
material in Spanish and English.
Members of the Harris Chain Power Squadron
stand by their newly established sign. The
Lake County Florida group put up 10 signs at
local boat ramps that promote vessel safety
checks and boating safety course.
